Nail Polish Canada's 2013 Holiday Nail Art Challenge - Week 1 - Snow

Hi everyone!  I was invited by NailPolishCanada.com to participate in their 2013 Holiday Nail Art Challenge.  The first week's challenge theme is 'Snow'.

I decided to try some of the textured polishes.  I'm not a huge fan, but they are pretty sparkly.  The texture just drives me nuts.  I hate the feeling and it catching when I run my fingers through my hair.  I would love to see what these look like in the sun though, but alas I am in Michigan and it is SO dreary out!

The base was Essie 'Lots of Lux'.

I have such a hard time capturing true colors.  I took this one picture with my cell phone and purposely blurry, because I just could not capture the sparkle-cious-ness of this polish.

I used a sponge to create a gradient using Julie G 'Blueberry Fizz'.  It looks white here (probably because I sponged it on), but it's actually more of an icey blue!

A closeup of the thumb showing the silver hex glitter! So pretty.

I used the Winstonia W120 stamp for the snowman, then went over it with China Glaze 'Frosty' and added an orange nose and the eyes.
I brushed the China Glaze 'Frosty' at the bottom of the snowman.

I love the snowman!

I attempted to add snowflakes, but they didn't show up well.  I like it the way it is.  :)

Thanks for checking out my challenge, and if you like my mani please vote for me HERE!  Happy Holidays!!

  1. This little snowman is way too frikken adorable! & your gradient is flawless. I completely agree with you about texture np, while I like how they look, I'm not 100% sold on their texture (Hello germ-y city! Right!?). Very cute job!
