Autism Awareness Day - April 2nd

Autism Awareness Day is April 2nd and April is Autism Awareness Month. The CDC has recently estimated that 1 in 88 children are autistic. This is more children than are affected by diabetes, AIDS, cancer, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy or Down syndrome – combined.

On my ring finger:  I used Cheeky XL plate A for the puzzle piece stamp, and filled it in with brushes by hand using Color Club "Dress for the Parade" (Yellow), Color Club "Cadillac Red", OPI "What's With The Cattitude?" (light blue), and Orly "La Playa" (Dark Blue).
On the rest of my fingers: OPI "What's With The Cattitude?"
Thumb: Stamped with CH17 using Konad Special Black Polish

I chose blue as the solid color for the rest of my nails because April 2nd is also Light it Up Blue, which is an initiative to help raise awareness of autism.  You may see many buildings and homes light up with blue lights.

  2. Hi Casey!

I wanted to ask you permission if I could link this post to my blog and if I could kind of copy your design (of course giving you the credit!). Im new to blogging, only been four days and I have no idea what im doing. Im not sure how to post the link even...help?

My husband sustained a brain injury this past June and during his recovery process it came out that he might be slightly autistic...shocker to me! So I have been trying to understand him and when I read your post I thought wow that would be a great way to show him that I care and I understand and that I want to help him, so I joined the autism society sight and I will be wearing blue tomorrow as well as putting up lights too! Thank you sooo much for putting this up here. I only have two followers at the moment but Im hoping that someday more people will follow me and see this and find all the wonderful programs there are out there to help people! So a big THANK YOU!!!

I really enjoy reading your blog as well. I have been following you for a little bit and youre nail art is awesome! I inspire to become you!

    Thanks for reading,
    M

  3. Melissa,

Yes, you may link this on your blog, absolutely! And no, I don't mind if you do this design either. I'm glad that I can inspire people too! I am new to blogging as well, my site has been open for about a month :) Are you using blogspot/blogger? If you click on the title of post and look at the top of your browser it should say http://stampaholicnailart.blogspot.com/2012/04/autism-awareness-day-april-2nd.html. Copy that and when you create a new post, type whatever you want it to say. Then towards the top of where you post, there are lots of things like changing font, adding a picture, etc. There is a button for link. Click that and you can copy the link in there. Or, alternatively, you can copy the url to one of my pictures (right click on it), or save it on your hard drive, and click on the insert picture photo. You can insert a photo from your computer or from a URL. Then once it is uploaded, you can click the link button and also link the picture. I hope that helps!

I am very sorry to hear about your husband, I hope he has a fast recovery. I just joined your site, now you have 4 members. :)

Thank you for checking out my site, I really appreciate it and I'm glad you like my nail art!
